Preparation tips

The various tips to improve Hindi writing skills are listed below.

  • The first and foremost thing to be done while preparing for Hindi writing is to prepare a proper timetable. Students should try to create a proper study timetable that consists of all the chapters with time distribution. By doing so, it will help the students to give equal attention to all three Hindi textbooks and also ensure to not miss out on any chapter.
  • Making notes while preparing is another most important factor. Students should make notes of each important thing they come across while reading. Writing short notes will help them in the future when they have less time to revise before the exam.
  • Writing down a summary will also help the students to understand everything about the chapter quickly and effectively.
  • Reading as many Hindi stories as possible is recommended for the students to help them improve their Hindi reading and writing skills.
  • Solving the given exercises with the chapters is extremely important. This will help the students to improve their answering speed and accuracy while writing the exam.
  • Revision is the key factor for any preparation. Not just a revision before the exam day is necessary, but a daily revision will ensure the students never forget what the chapter was about. Revision only takes about half an hour a day. Also, NCERT textbooks are sufficient for a proper revision. Being thorough with all the chapters and topics from the NCERT books ensure high marks in the board examinations.
  • Worksheets should be solved every day to ensure better learning and understanding of the concepts.
  • Spelling mistakes need to be checked very carefully. These are very common among the students. It occurs more often because of not paying enough attention while writing or writing in a hurry because of less time limit.
  • Reading out aloud can help us understand the flow of words and sentences. This will also help in improving fluency while speaking.
  • Practice really does make one perfect! Students should try to set goals for daily writing exercises – they need not be long-winded and time-consuming, just committing to writing a paragraph a day is enough.
  • Students can even go for group studies and improve their writing skills by reading each other’s paragraphs to see where changes need to be made.
  • Writing skills include letters, articles, essays, reports, etc. Being thorough with the formats is extremely important in order to avoid mistakes and losing marks. For this, one needs to practice at least one writing skill every day.
  • The only way to master Hindi is by writing more and more. Everything should be written down to avoid mistakes and understand better. This will also help in understanding the better use of grammar.
  • One should avoid repeating lines while writing and putting up point to point answers to make the answer look more beautiful.
  • Students should try communicating in Hindi more often to develop a better fluency in the subject for both reading and writing skills.
  • For writing essays, students should always choose a wise and suitable topic. Then they should divide the whole essay into three parts. The first part should include the introduction of the topic. The second part should include details about the topic and the last part should include a suitable conclusion.
  • Students should avoid using tough words without knowing their actual meanings. It might lead to alteration of the meaning and hence loss of marks.
  • Sample papers and previous year question papers play a key role. It helps the students to know the pattern of the question paper, which section holds how many marks and also about the type of questions to be asked. Also, the topics of the writing skill section are sometimes repeated in the exams. Therefore, it is very beneficial for the students if they practice from the previous question papers.

The Hindi language is always believed to play a central role in learning. No matter what the subject area, students learn new concepts when they listen, talk, read and write about what they are learning. Speaking and writing reflect the thinking process that is taking place in the student’s mind. If their writing is poor, then their learning is poor. Therefore, it is important to focus on the subject in order to improve their writing skills.
