Plan the cost of the said items and also make sure you link up with the waste management authority and get more information about the different sources of supply of tyres. Do not forget to include the building cost in the plan along with the amount payable to the staff employed.

    • I am also interested about this matter…. India is not in the picture as I still have not found any statistics of reusing the tyre/cured rubber product waste where US leads the market with approx 90% reusing of tyre waste…. RMA stats show that by 2017-20 India’s automobile sector will flourish and so a huge market is going to rise in scrap and waste tyres but its recycling is still not accounted….. I don’t know exactly it is right or wrong but there is a profitable market in this business….

    • hi Martha your idea of starting a tyre recycling business is pretty good.Unfortunately it is not a viable business in Botswana because of the supporting industries. Botswana unfortunately does not have industries that can buy your recycled rubber.Again the population of Botswana is pretty small so for you to get access is pretty difficult. I was in Botswana for 14 years and now i own a recycling business in Palanpur (Gujarat) India. The whole idea is you should be able to sell your products locally. If you are able to sign a contract with local councils for used tyres and stop the import to Zimbabwe then you could win on the raw material side, also sign up with companies in South Africa to buy your recycled products then your selling is secured. Even your plant should not be very big in size as your access to raw material is limited. If at all you decide to to still start the business you should attend an International Rubber Expo in Chennai(India) from 19-21 January. If you need any other information please contact me via email zahir_bhornya@yahoo.com
